Breast Implant Surgery

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries today, especially among women who wish to enhance the size or shape of their breasts to better suit their body and personal preferences. Breast implants are not only about increasing size, but also about enhancing body proportions, adding charm, and boosting confidence in all types of clothing. It also contributes to improved self-image in daily life.

Today, breast implant techniques, materials, and safety standards have evolved, making the procedure more accessible. However, breast augmentation is not a decision to be made hastily. Results depend on several factors, including the choice of implant, size, surgical technique, timing, and proper pre- and post-operative care.

  • Cons: may be visible when bending forward if the breast fold is shallow.
  • Best for: patients choosing implants larger than 300cc with well-defined breast folds.

2. เทคนิคการเสริมหน้าอกแบบแผลใต้รักแร้ (Transaxillary Incision)

  • Incision is made in the underarm fold (approx. 3–5 cm), often using an endoscope.
  • Pros: no scar on the breast, ideal for swimwear/dress wearers, reduced risk of capsular contracture.
  • Cons: more complex procedure, longer recovery, not ideal for teardrop implants.
  • Best for: patients avoiding breast scarring, selecting implants under 300cc.

Recommendations for choosing

You should choose a technique based on your body structure and the needs of the service recipient. Consult a specialist to assess which type of wound is suitable for your body to achieve safe and natural results.

Breast Ptosis (Sagging) & Breast Lift

Sagging breasts, especially after pregnancy or weight loss, can be addressed with a breast lift. Sagging breasts are a major problem for women with large breasts or those who have given birth. This is because during pregnancy, female hormones change, causing the breasts to expand. Hormonal changes and breastfeeding can cause volume loss and tissue stretching, leading to sagging. This makes many people lack confidence in their daily lives. The way to restore the breasts to their original firmness is by performing a breast lift.

  • Grade 4: Nipple is >3 cm below the fold, breasts sag significantly.

FAQs

There are three main types of breast surgery:

  • Breast Augmentation: Enhances size using silicone implants.
  • Breast Reduction: Reduces breast size, often for those experiencing back pain or sagging.
  • Breast Lift: Lifts and firms sagging breasts without increasing size.

Selection should be based on your body frame, existing breast shape, and desired outcome. Options include round or teardrop (anatomical) implants, and choosing between smooth or textured surfaces. A consultation with your surgeon will help determine the most suitable choice for your body type.

Pain levels vary by surgical technique and individual tolerance. Generally, patients experience tightness or soreness for about 3–7 days, and may return to light work within 5–7 days post-op.

Modern implants can last 10–20 years. However, routine check-ups every 1–2 years are recommended. If there are no complications, replacement may not be necessary.

Scar location depends on the technique used:

  • Inframammary (under the breast fold)
  • Periareolar (around the nipple)
  • Transaxillary (underarm) Surgeons typically use refined stitching methods to minimize scarring.

If implants are placed under the muscle and do not interfere with milk ducts, breastfeeding is generally unaffected.

  • Discontinue supplements, vitamins, and blood-thinning meds at least 1 week before surgery.
  • Stop smoking 2 weeks before and after surgery.
  • Undergo basic health screening before the procedure.
  • Avoid lifting heavy objects or engaging in arm/chest exercises for the first month.
  • Sleep on your back.
  • Consistently wear the doctor-recommended bra.
